PlayStation Portable almost sold out in Japan
The lines in Japan were crazy long for the launch of the PlayStation Portable yesterday, so maybe it's not that surprising that Sony says they've pretty much completely sold out the first batch of 200,000 that they shipped to retailers. They say they expect to get another 300,000 of the new portable game console in stores before the end of the year and sell about three million of them worldwide by March 31st of next year. If you've been keeping score at home, Nintendo is projected to have sold about five million Nintendo DS consoles by then.

I love how all apple's little fanboys seem to believe that no one can possibly come up with an innovative, pleasing, and original design but apple, so if someone does, then they must have ripped off apple. give me a break

the remote.. the box design.. the white cords with ear plugs that look like they have little apple logos on them (okay.. teasing)... er.. just wait till the white PSP comes out..
how could you even respond without looking at the freaking image we have here and say it doesn't look like iPod elements were stolen...

this sucks, my friend went over to pick one up for me and they would only sell one per customer.
Now I have to see if I can get one via another friend in japan.
If you think March is a long wait, what about us poor sods in Australia, we don't even have an estimated launch date.

It would appear that every electronic device that is white or circular in appearance is an ipod rip off.
Completely ignore that it's black, plays video and games and has a large screen....
Ahhhh I can see it now, it IS an ipod ripoff.

No one in Japan would have any "inside information" on when the next shipments might be arriving at the local Yodobashi or Bic Camera would they? I don't quite feel like checking in everyday.

It is an electronic device that runs on a battery (which can be charged!!)and has the ability to play music. Apple has a patent on that, as well as the color white. Sorry Sony!

how can a psp be a rip of the ipod. you can say that the ipod is a rip of a mp3 player.
and can a ipod go on the net "NO" the psp will go online soon. and man i want to have one item (psp) not a ipod in my pocket with a gayboy, palm pilot and a portable dvd player so if any one says that the psp is a rip of a ipod you are wrong so wrong.
