Diamond Electronics @ CES - Hands-on with Yahoo! Electronics
When we got sent those leaked pics of Yahoo!'s new line of consumer electronics back in September we weren't entirely sure whether they were real or not—it seemed a little off that Yahoo! was dipping its toe into the already crowded pool that is the world of consumer gadgets, but it also seemed like a lot of trouble for someone to go to pull off a hoax. Anyway, as it turns out the whole thing was legit, and a company by the name of Diamond Electronics was building a lot of the products, several of which we managed to get up close and personal with last night at the big CES ShowStoppers event. (Note to people who organize these things: find places with better lighting!)
The YDP-701 DVD player.
The YDP-700 DVD player.
The YDP-305. A progressive scan DVD player that sports a 4-in-1 flash memory card reader.
Another shot of the YDP-305. Note the USB slot on the side there. That?s for hooking up your USB flash drive for digital photo slideshows.
The YDP-530/Metro Retro DVD Player?still don?t love the design on this one.
Their home theater in a box system, probably the YHT-650.
