Rotundus' spherical roving security robot

A Swedish start-up has developed a spherical roving robot that can detect and report intruders (sounds like somebody's been watching The Prisoner). The robot was initially designed by the Ångström Space Technology Center for planetary exploration, but start-up company Rotundus saw more commercial potential in it and decided to market it as an Earthbound security device. The company says the bot can travel many places that robots using wheels or tracks cannot, including through mud and snow, just don't try sending it down a flight of stairs. It's still very much in prototype form though, so there's no indication of a release date or price, but you know we'll be watching for it.
