Sony's Japanese Vaio S92 HighSpec kicks it into Sonoma

Vaio S92 HighSpec

More than a few were disappointed last week when Sony released their latest revision of the Vaio S laptop, the VGN-S360, sans Sonoma. And in typical Sony fashion, if you're Japanese you can apparently get the S92 HighSpec, their Sonoma-based version of the S, which, among other things, now includes an Nvidia GeForce 2 Go 6200 (goodbye ATI Mobility Radeon 9700), Sonoma's faster CPU lineup, and support for up to 2GB of SODIMM DDR2 SDRAM (the old version only took MicroDIMMs). So yeah, it goes without saying that maybe we'll get a Sonoma version of the S eventually, but we recommend you don't hold your breath since Sony knows who's actually #1.
