The bad Olympus m:robe 500i press doesn't stop, especially not at the NYT

Olympus m:robe MR-500i

We've already spoken our peace on the m:robe 500i, but in case anyone else needed further confirmation of our previous conclusions about the clunky device, take the NY Times's David Pogue's review for example; when he points out the utterly terrible battery life of the unit (which is about an hour and a half using photos and 8 hours playing music only—just awful, considering the unit's size), harps on its usability, slams the device's camera, and even starts breaking out phrases like "utter incoherence", or "wannabe hipness" (in fact, he uses the word "hip" no less than five times), you know you're not headed for greener pastures. But fret not "young, hip urban kids with spiky gelled hair", Pogue claims an Olympus rep told him we can all expect four new m:robe models this year. Um, yay? Let's hope next time around Olympus doesn't just slap together a 20GB drive, a huge touch screen, a crappy battery, an inferior camera, and tie it all together with a ridiculous conceptual UI.
