Wacom introduces 21-inch Cintiq 21UX LCD graphics tablet
Wacom has released what may be the Cadillac of LCD graphics tablets. The 21-inch Cintiq 21UX tablet has a 1600x1200 display, can handle a full range of pen input from forms entry to animation, and works with Macs and PCs. While graphic artists may find themselves drooling over this, for $3K, we can't help but wish they'd included Bluetooth, so we wouldn't have to be tethered to our computer via a USB cable.

What would be the point of bluetooth if it already requires a DVI or VGA connection to the computer and a power supply? Did you guys even read the article?
Replacing USB with bluetooth is great but you'll still be tethered by the DVI cable.
When will Wacom turn these beauties into slate PCs? That I'd buy.
the USB cable piggybacks the DVI cable anyway, like the apple cinema displays work. so it stays out of the way quite well
Great to see Wacom is developing this technology. Let face it a mouse or trackballs are useless for art and the standard “off screen“ tablet are still awkward to artist use to the direct hand to eye process of pencil on paper. I can see in the future the things will be big, light and wireless.
The new Cintiq 21UX is shipping in March for $2,500.

it'd make a great wireless unit with UWB some day except it's already only 250cd/m2 brightness. making it brighter and making it use little enough power would be tricky, even with impressive batteries.
i still want a higher res display. especially if you're charging 3 grand.
I know its not gonna come out till late june, but do you guys know where i can try out one of these things, i'd like to try them before i get one...thanks
