Cellphone out of charge? All you need is air

cellphonesgeneric

Thanks to some bright students at the Indian Institute of Technology's Department of Industrial Design in Delhi, you'll be able to carry a device in your pocket that can charge your cellphone using a small, wind-powered turbine. The turbine generates about 3 to 4 watts of electricity, enough to charge a mobile phone in a pinch. It was developed to solve the ubiquitous problem encountered by commuters and travellers: your battery is always dead precisely when you need it while on the go. Though not commercially available yet, Department Professor Lalit Kumar Das has plans to manufacture this handy piece of kit on a large scale. Can we get on the list to be notified?
