Silicon Image introduces HDMI and HDCP to the PC

HDMI connector

One of the two new hi-def yous just got very excited—Silicon Image introduced its new Sil 1390 and 1920 transmitters, chip-based platforms capable of transmitting Intel's SDVO (Serial Digital Video Output) and HDMI, respectively. The other you, however, is a bit nonplussed that yet another HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) device is showing its face around town;, this time in SI's Sil 1368, which aims to bring that whole DRMed signal via DVI-HDCP thing to your home box. Still, the more (non-DRMed) hi-def options we have for our now and future media center PCs, the better, don't you agree?
