Virgin Electronics is dead?
Is Virgin Electronics dead? We're still trying to get confirmation directly from them (so far no one we've bugged over there has called us back), but Om Malik reports that Virgin's consumer electronics division/brand/however they organize things over there is shutting down. They'd already gone through one metamorphosis last year when they decided to ditch their Pulse line of home electronics gear (like DVD players and cordless phones) in favor of focusing mainly on MP3 players, but apparently that wasn't working out so well either (which would make this one of the most half-hearted attempts at iPod killing we've ever seen). As of right now there's no indication of anything amiss on their website, so until we can get confirmation of this or they make some sort of official announcement, keep this one strictly on the QT, ok?
