Sirius announces deals with Mercedes, Jaguar and Land Rover
XM scored big with Hyundai yesterday, but Sirius just sealed the deal with three manufacturers: Mercedes, Jaguar and Land Rover. Under the new arrangements Sirius radios will be available as factory-installed options in all Mercedes M-class vehicles, on Jaguar's X-Type, X-Type Wagon, S-Type and XJ Sedan, and on Land Rover's Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Not bad, but in the long run the Hyundai deal is probably the more important of the two, since there's a lot more Sonatas scooting around than Jaguar X-Types, and the XM receivers will be standard equipment as opposed to an option.
