Malaysian students develop Bluetooth traffic-signal alert

Not a lot of details on this, but a group of Malaysian engineering students has created a PDA-sized device that keeps track of bus routes and communicates with traffic signals via Bluetooth, alerting motorists when the light they're approaching is due to turn yellow. We haven't heard anything about Malaysia's traffic lights being Bluetooth-enabled, so we assume it's just a proof-of-concept at this point. Personally, we hope this never gets past the demo stage. Most drivers we encounter at intersections take a yellow light as a sign to floor it; we can only imagine what a little intelligence about an impending color change would induce them to do.
