Tungsten E2 out April 10
After we posted the story earlier about the leaked 'announcement' of the impending Tungsten E2, we got a tip that the unit has been listed as available for ordering from Datavision in New York City. We called them to get the skinny and, after being routed through what seemed like half the company, ended up finding out the E2 will be officially available for sale on April 10 for a retail price of $219.99 (though the product page seems to be inconsistently showing up as either $219.99 or $249.99, the store representative we spoke with confirmed the lower price). palmOne fans, start your engines.
[Thanks, Sammy]

Umm.. woo? Did anyone even buy the T|E?
Are there any left? (Treo excepted, of course)
Well, it is april 1st in Asia.
Is that "palmOne" company _still_ alive?
Yawn.

As I understand it, the T|E was a big seller as far as PalmOne goes. Though apparently their biggest sellers in the post PalmV years has been the Zire series.
I hate Palm. They cost me $7000 when their stock collapsed and then continued to collapse.
My enemy's enemy is my friend so I'm buying a PocketPC.
Maybe they've found a way to deal with the case? A woman in my office has the Tungsten E and she showed it to me once and I wouldn't even touch it. It gets fingerprints so bad, it looks like she used it as a napkin.

Now that is some straight up spam.
Maybe all you Palm haters can go and hang out at the gym and pump each other.

"1.5 million units of the Tungsten E handheld computer in 14 months on the market. The Tungsten E consistently has been the best-selling handheld in the United States and represented 20 percent of all U.S. handheld sales since its introduction, according to The NPD Group;"
Does this help?
The Tungsten E sells well because it's got the best combination of price, screen and battery life. Mine lives inside its hard case anyway, so the fingerprint issue is not a big deal.
OTOH, the Tungsten is not the device I wanted, it was the device I settled for when my Treo 90 died. What I want is an OS5 device with a keyboard and no cellphone.

Um, like a Tungsten C?
I've been using the Tungsten E for almost a year and it does everything I need it to, except for Bluetooth, so I will probably be getting that new model when it comes out.
i bought a T|E ; The screen buzzed and was fairly annoying, so i returned it for a T|T, which i may say is a excellent maching.
I hope P1 made some real improvments this time around.
The country folk I know pronounce it, "bootoof".
