iPod Camera Connector reviewed

iPod camera connector + digicam 2

iPodLounge has got a full review of the new iPod Camera Connector. They found that it works well with listed compatible cameras as well as a couple of other cameras not specifically listed as compatible — if your camera supports any of the PTP, Type 4, or Mass Storage storage formats, you'll probably be able to use it with the connector. Apple hasn't yet released the list of compatible memory card readers, and only one of their test models worked properly, so you may want to test yours before purchasing or get the connector from somewhere with a good return policy. Overall, they recommend the device as a less expensive alternative to the Belkin media readers available, as you can actually view the transferred photos right away on the iPod photo with the iPod Camera Connector. However, the Belkin readers work with non-photo iPods, unlike the Apple connector. They also found the transfer speed to be on the sluggish side, and the drain on the iPod photo battery to be significant, so refrained to give the device full marks.
