Samsung's 4GB 0.85-inch mini drive
Toshiba's line of 0.85-inch mini hard drives is getting some competition from Samsung, which announced this past Friday that they'll have a 0.85-inch hard drive of their own out sometime in Q3 of this year. The best part (for us, not for Toshiba) is that they're going straight to the head of the class with a 4GB drive that'll go toe-to-toe with that new 4GB drive Toshiba is putting into mass production soon. Samsung's already started putting 1.5GB and 3GB 1-inch drives into cellphones (the SPH-V5400 and the SGH-I300, respectively), so we fully expect them to do the same with this new 4GB drive.

dang, koreans are freaking awesome
Actually Cornice makes the drives in the samsung phones. It's also making their flash memory division scream holy hell. There seems to be some communication or work politics problems at the company. Imagine if they all worked together:
.85" 4gb HD phone with a serious camera and mp3/video player running on windows mobile.
Throw in some ev/do and USB hosting/charging and you'd be gold. Especially if it wasn't any bigger than a treo.
cmon samsung whats stopping you?
The phone that you are refering to is the SGH-i300(GSM Windows Mobile Smartphone). The SPH-i300 is the Sprint (CDMA) Palm OS enbabled smart phone.
Hi! evdo isnt here yet. And dont expect it on time, per Cingular either. AWE!
