Amazon posts listing for new PowerMacs early?

powermacG5

So do you think it's some sort of backlash against the results of the big Apple product leak lawsuit that everybody seems to be so suddenly prone to leaking Apple products early? Looks like Amazon is up this time around — they've thoughtfully published the details on the new PowerMacs we've been looking out for, though Apple hasn't yet updated their own site. Top of the line will now be a dual 2.7GHz machine, followed by dual 2.3GHz and dual 2.0GHz offerings. Base configs for the top two will be 512MB RAM/250GB internal drive, with hard drive size dropping to 160GB for the low-end model; all units will get a 16x dual layer Superdrive. It looks like we can actually preorder these — we're seeing a price of $2,994.99 for the base configuration of the dual 2.7GHz model. We expect an official announcement from Apple tomorrow.

[Thanks, Fraggle (we've always wanted to say that)]
