palmOne LifeDrive review roundup
Alright, so maybe right smack dab in the middle of E3 wasn't the best time for palmOne to launch a brand new handheld, but we figured we'd throw together a little roundup of LifeDrive reviews anyway. These were the first few we could find, but we're sure there will be plenty more in the coming days, so if you spot a review we've missed drop us a line and we'll add them to the list:

I'll never understand why they make such a big deal of a 4 GB hardrive. It seems to me you could just use a compact flash slot and any size Microdrive to increase or decrease the memory abilities. At my store we sell palm pilots but I don't know how big this one will be. I personally perfer the HP IPAQ's to anything Palm so I won't ever recommend this.
Enough with the LifeDrive posts!
It is made by Palm... ewwwww.
'Nuff said.
Keep the Lifedrive posts coming!
It's made by Palm....yummy.
Ignore the trolls.

Great, but I'm not gonna buy one until they add cell phone functionality to it as well.
This makes me appreciate my T5 even more. When I bought it, they included the portable wireless keyboard for free. I think the T5 is the best interim device to have until Cobalt is supported.
The only hassle is swapping the Wi-Fi SD for the flash memory SD, otherwise it works very well for multi-media.
it's a pity that this model doesn't hv a built in camera, and now it's high time that palm includes the portable wireless keyboard by default. Would be interesting to see how easy it is to convert video's using the desktop manager.
reviewer sound very disappointment. Well.. I am looking forward on new Zire "73" *cross finger*
PDA Mexico, the review in spanish.

Can anybody confirm whether or not this thing has memory that won't reset if the unit runs out of battery power? At least one of the reviews says it will erase while another says it has non-volatile memory. Palm website says it has 16 MB of ROM but most of these reviews list specs as 32 MB of RAM.
Re: #8, I'll assume video conversion is the
same as how my Zire 72 does it. I drag the
porn onto the "media" tab in Palm Desktop
and the conversion happens.
Kevin (#10), The LifeDrive has a 4GB harddrive in it so your data will be safe if you run out of power.
Great, interesting new product.
Now, if only there'd be a Bluetooth-enabled
hard-drive out there, I'd be a happy camper.
Hows about:

I work for office depot, and when we first got them in they said 4 gb well they re-called them all back and sent us new ones. The one we did sell before they went back the buttons were falling off 5 mins after bieng opened. the reason they recalled them is that they actually shipped with 2gigs of memory, and our current display the screen does not even work.
So far it seems like a good idea with the 4 gigs but was cheaply made.
