So that Pepper Pad we peeped back at CES is now finally shipping out at a price point of $799.99. It's designed as a "hassle-free" wireless portable media playing device running on Monta Vista Linux 2.4 CEE3.1. It's envisioned as a sort of central wireless brain for the home media center, used to control your TV and stereo over IR as well as access your digital media and the internet. It packs an 8.4-inch TFT display, 20GB hard drive, 256MB RAM, Bluetooth and an SD slot into its 12.1 x 6.6 x 0.8-inch frame, and weighs in at 2.3 pounds. Amazon is taking orders on this now, and the first units will ship out to customers on June 28th.
