Hawking WiFi finder doubles as network adaptor

With pocket WiFi detectors practically reduced to commodity novelty gear (basic models are available for under $25), companies that want to charge a premium for their digital divining rods are going to need to add some bells and whistles. Hawking Technologies hopes they've hit the sweet spot with their $99 HWL2 WiFi Locator Professional Edition ($139 for Mac users, because — we assume — Mac users are just used to paying more). The unit's big feature is that it doubles as both a WiFi finder and a USB wireless g adaptor. While we'd like to assume that most people who might want something like this already have a wireless card in their laptops, we suppose it could come in handy for those with older WiFi cards who want an upgrade that also helps them track down signals. Hawking also says that the company's antenna technology lets the HWL2 function at distances 300% greater than standard adapters.
