Teleste's cable broadband on the road to 100Mbps

Moto cable modem

While cable broadband providers stateside are upping the bandwidth ante by a couple megabits per second this and next year, and regional infrastructure companies are fighting tooth and nail over BPL and fiber to the home, Finnish firm Teleste's takin' it back to the old school (well, kind of). They're circumventing all this newfangled giddiness by claiming their technology will hit 100Mbps next year over regular old cable. A speed we totally don't think anyone saw coming in the near future—or even ever—over cable. But can they deliver? Because we really like the idea of our IPTV be delivered with a healthy dose of irony via cable lines.
