Hollywood devises non-divisive digital theater standard

Sure, we all knew it was only a matter of time before they got it "right": Digital Cinema Initiatives, a movie-industry standards group, are (or were) expected to announce a new standard for digital projection systems for theaters, well, everywhere we guess. The idea, obviously enough, is to ensure that those spankin' new 100k digital projector investments theaters are going to have to make on each screen is going to be worth their while whenever they get around to making it, and there's no defined standard as such. We just can't wait for the "users" (i.e. the theaters) to start complaining about all the DRM, encryption, and general non user-friendliness of the system.
