BrightSide's LED LCD backlight matrix

We kind of figured Philips were using LEDs of some sort or another in their new
"buzzing backlight" LCDs they've got coming
out, but it looks like BrightSide are the peeps who figured out a way to coax an LED backlight matrix into achieving
ten times the brightness and 100 times the contrast of current displays. Not exactly what Philips was going for, but
we're not gonna split hairs over some potentially good news for all you LCD lovers out there.
