New Sony line announcement on Tuesday
We don't have too much to go on here, but it sounds like Sony will be announcing a new HDTV line on Tuesday. We were following some stories on tariffs that Sony has to pay and there was mention of the announcement.
According to what we've seen so far, Sony will debut the sets at a trade show on Tuesday. The sets are expected to feature Sony's Silicon Crystal Reflective Display (SXRD) technology. Expected prices are $4,000 for 50-inch screens to $5,000 for 60-inch screens. I think we've been hearing about this technology for about two years now and Sony already offers it in their high-end Qualia line. Perhaps they are bringing SXRD to their standard consumer lines?
