Server-based games coming to casinos

Multi-choice machines, in which gamblers can choose a game from a menu, have become common in casinos. But the next generation of one-armed bandits will give suckers players even more choices when it comes to getting separated from their money. New server-based games, to be unveiled at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas next month, will let machines be reset on the fly with games that can be based on anything from a player's previous preferences to hot new games that the casino wants to promote. The system's developer, gaming giant IGT, says the system they're using is hackproof, and this is one case where we may actually believe them. After all, the house always wins, and we don't see casinos giving up that advantage to anyone. (And we've seen enough bad movies to know what happens to anyone who tries to beat the house.)
