The TI-84+ gets down with USB peripherals
Alright, Texas Instruments fanboys — gather 'round, for we bear tidings of a new driver written for the TI-84+ that
interfaces with that unit's USB On-the-Go port and renders it usable with a number of USB peripherals. Already tested
with the Usb8x flash application are a USB mouse, and a loopback test for the USB Silverlink — and, a USB flash drive.
The video below shows a scene from The Matrix playing off of a 1GB Lexar JumpDrive on the TI-84+'s screen — yeah,
PSP it is not but hey, who knows when you'll be stuck
on a desert island with only your trusty calculator, a USB cable and a USB flash drive? It's better to be
prepared.

Makes sense for the bored kids in class. I would believe watching videos using a TI-89 Titanium would make more sense, since the resolution is a bit higher than a TI-84+. The mouse option is a nice addition, but I'd rather see a keyboard used on it.
However, many don't give a hoot about calculators and have many abacus running on Linux.
Well if I was stuck on a desert island with only a TI-84+ calculator, a USB cable and a USB flash drive(which happens by the off chance to have the matrix on it) I wouldn't be bloody watching films!
I'd be playing doom!
lol
Finally, some convergence showing up on scientific calculators.
Last year in tenth grade I made a number of artistic nude "movie" clips using the BASIC format. Only ten frames were possible, and it took 2 hrs average to get each frame perfected. GEEK TECH>.
OH LOOK AT LIL' JIMMY !
HE USED TO DO SO POORLY IN MATH CLASS, NOW HE SITS THERE STARING INTO HIS CALCULATOR TRYING TO TEACH HIMSELF MATHEMATICAL EQUATIONS!
I THINK I SHOULD GIVE HIM AN C- THIS SEMESTER FOR HIS EFFORT !
TI calcs are for middle-schoolers. Get an HP or go home.
somehow the matrix doesn't seem like the movie to play on one of those, because the visuals are too complicated, I bet a cartoon show like family guy or the simpsons would work better.
But where will the sound go out of?
