Mirage Motion Media's moving-image "interactive motion panels"

Mirage Motion Media

No walleyes or anaglyphs here—Mirage's "interactive motion panels" apparently "play" short lengths of motion video without any moving parts, electronics, or ungainly optical techniques. Apparently as you walk by their ad panels—which are nothing more than lightboxes, an image, and a piece of glass—the image moves as you do; stop, and the image stops as well. This is achieved by shooting a video clip with an algorithm that blurs the motion in a way such that when a still is displayed behind a pane of glass with a fine-grained aperture mesh, one experiences the illusion of motion. Makes sense, right? Right?
