Peugeot actually made a Moovie
Hard to imagine what a rollover would be like in the Moovie, but believe it or not Peugeot has something to show for that Design Contest they held a few years back. Granted, you probably couldn't take it offroading or some such nonsense, but as an electric city car two-seater with the ability to turn nearly 360° in place and crazy porthole like doors, it may not matter all that much what you can do without outside insane parallel parks. No word on whether they actually want to mass produce these things (something tells us they're still trying to get their flying car out the door), but we certainly wouldn't refuse one if it showed up on our doorstep in a basket.

Odd. Any room for subwoofers?
the doors are inside the wheels. The front "wheels" are spheres that just provide support, they don't drive at all. Turning is done by turning the big wheels at different rates. Sweet ride!
Yes, subwoofer, and other things like pets, and children. What am i suppost to crash with now? It would be so lonely.... XD
"Odd. Any room for subwoofers?"
To hell with subwoofers; any room for a decent crumple zone? I can imagine what getting rear-ended would be like in that thing!
I would be afraid to take that thing up a hill...kinda like a "wheelchair effect" of rolling backwards ><
The photo of the Moovie with the dark tinted glass all around sold me.
Of course, I would want it safety rated - but comments like "crumple zone" show way-outdated thinking. Just look at the crash tests on a Smart ForTwo if you want to see how well small cars can perform for safety.
But hey, I don't mind if all the people that are afraid of new technology want to worry about rolling backwards or getting rear ended.
I'll happily rule the streets in my Moovie while you hunker inside your Chevrolet Mom Utility Vehicle...
BTW, I think this 2" thick Blaupunkt subwoofer might be nice in the Moovie:

A speedbump would present quite a challenge to that vehicle.
Well, just for the record this peugeot was designed by an amateur Portuguese designer named Andre Costa and submited for that contest. Great work!
I want one :p
That my friends is what you call uuuuuuuuuuuuuuugly! It looks like a capsual from the Millenium wheel in London. Pic here: http://www.totaltravel.co.uk/guide/photos/waterloo-southwark/london-eye-millenium-wheel-views.jpg

It doesn't matter how it looks like so long as it is a revolutionary wave of transportation. I wouldn't mind having to be in that somewhat ugly vehicle but it does somewhat look pretty cool. If it delivered 400mpg, flew, and had auto pilot and was affordable at about $30,000 i would so get it. But until then I will stick with an uglyer car. lol
Geez, I use to ride one of these at the Iowa State Fair. They call them "Bumper Cars".
Why is Engadget even using the word 'produce'? This will end up in the same place every single concept car ends up - the company vault. Seriously, every car show there's some wild new concept car. Some have great ideas, some bad, but they usually all share the same thing - interesting, forward-looking design (love it or hate it, of course).
Thing is these cars NEVER see production. There's way too much money to be lost in a failed car. So they take itsy-bitsy little 'design cues' from concepts, like a new headlight design (ooOoOoOoOooo) and stick it in a production car.
What's funny is, every year the concept cars look more and more alike across manufacturers and design houses... =)
(notable exceptions: the Audi TT, Chrysler 300c, Infiniti G35 Coupe, Honda Element, and a few others were launched very similar to their concept car bases - then again, while having unique and interesting design, they're hardly reality-bending designs that we all love to drool over and say "hell, I'd buy one". They're basically just design kicked up a notch.)
Thought it might be interesting to some people what this guy does in his off-time. He works on a mod called Forgotten Hope for Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2. They even posted about him winning this contest a while back. http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/main.php?module=archives&selectedmonth=5&selectedyear=2005〈=english
