PIP TV in HD?

This one is in the "I'll have to see it to believe it" category. Micronas announced a new dual-channel video controller that allows two independent HDTV channels to be displayed side-by-side. I can do that with my split-screen HDTV set now, but Micronas apparently takes this a step further

According to their press release, the images are displayed on the same screen while preserving full image resolution. The VGC 5969B from Micronas supports full 1080p panel resolution and is only available in samples currently. Full production is expected in the first quarter of next year.

Hmmm...."full image resolution" is preserved? Like I said, I'll have to see it to believe it. If it's legit, however, I could see this approach come in handy for some PS3 gaming!
