HDMI from Hitachi Desktop to HDTV

hitachipc

People have been suffering with quality of DVI to HDMI conversion for years now (joke), so Hitachi has a solution. Buy one of their new desktop computers that feature HDMI out that is intended to be used to hook up that huge high definition and allow the HDMI cable to carry your high definition picture and digital audio. The computers unfortunately like many things, are only available in Japan. They do pack a nice set of items into the small desktop: P4 820, 512 of DDR2, 500 gig hard drive, and of course, DL DVD burner.

Alright, we understand that shipping from Japan can be expensive, so if you can wait till 2006, many ATI and nVidia chipsets will support HDMI out. This is according to Silicon Image who is making the chipset. It would be interesting to see if this is going to be for home media graphics cards only or if high end monitors will start to use the new cable. Anything to make the high definition image look better on that 50" big screen is great in our books though.
