Kodak launches WiFi-enabled EasyShare 500 4x6 printer

Kodak EasyShare 500

As Kodak gets ready to finally release the WiFi-enabled EasyShare One camera, the company is also preparing to roll some appropriately wireless peripherals as well. The Kodak EasyShare 500 printer looks like just about every other dedicated 4x6 printer out there, except for a couple of differences: one is just a matter of degree — the printer sports a 3.5-inch LCD preview screen for computerless printing. The bigger difference is that the $249 printer accepts an optional WiFi card, allowing direct wireless printing from the EasyShare One. The printer also has Bluetooth built-in, for wireless printing from cameraphones or Bluetooth-enabled computers. Of course, this wouldn't be a Kodak without a dock, so you can pop your camera in for easy printing, though we can't help but think this is one case where the optional $179 dock would be a less attractive option, given the printer's wireless chops.
