It's big! It's bad! It's the 71-inch LCoS from LG!
Apparently, this set hit Australia last month and now it's washing ashore here in the fall. The 71SA1D from LG is a gorgeous, 71-inch LCoS set that supports full 1920 x 1080 progressive resolution. At 22-inches deep, this will take up a little more floor space than you might like, but I'd trade that for the nearly 6-foot diagonal viewing!
The new set has an integrated ATSC digital tuner for over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts and also accepts CableCARDs. HDMI, Firewire (IEEE-1394) and a 9-in-2 memory card slot round out the inputs. LG even threw in a Gemstar on-screen program guide; hey, with an HDTV this size, you could throw in a kitchen sink.
No word on price in the press release but we found one website with additional details on the set and an MSRP of $0.00, so we just ordered ten of these babies from them.
