Dixim DMR-1000 combines dual-layer DVD with user-configurable HDD
If you're looking for a DVR with a hard-drive and a DVD burner but don't want to pay Humax for the TiVo branding (or the monthly fees) the Dixim DMR-1000 might be for you. The DMR-1000 is a networkable unit that combines a dual-layer burner with a user-configurable hard drive. We assume this is going to go as an OEM product for companies to configure as they see fit. So, don't be surprised if you see this in Wal-Mart under another name, with a cheap 40GB drive installed. Just swap it for a 200 and you're in business.
