The U.K.'s Research Machines is marketing a ruggedized laptop for
classroom use, with features that include a hard-screen LCD, optional waterproof keyboard cover and magnesium alloy
lid. It's also designed to be used with a Kensington lock that can clamp the optical drive and on-off switch shut, in
case teachers want to be sure the machines don't wander off on their own. At £549 ($1,008), the RM Mobile One could be
a good investment for schools that don't want to see their laptops turned into
battered $50 castoffs in a couple of years.
