HDNet films in theater, on TV and DVD in the same day

Talk about serendipity (sorry, I just got "word of the day toilet paper"); we've got a poll asking if HDTV impacts your decisions to attend movie theaters. How timely is it that HDNet is working with Steven Soderbergh on high-def films that will be distributed in theaters, on HDNet and on home video at the same time?

Soderbergh hasn't made friends with the movie theater operators, but then again; he makes the films that they show for a profit! Mark Cuban from HDNet and Soderbergh not only realize that consumers want choice, but they both have the strength to take a stand and swim against the current. It's smart business as well: why lose potential revenues from piracy when you can make money in all three venues right up front?
