HDC Fall: Movie execs stress importance of high definition DVD standard
As if you didn't already know, there's a war about to start and we're right in the middle of it. Yesterday at the Digital Hollywood conference, former Warner Home video president Warren Lieberfarb and current Warner VP Steve Nickerson criticized and warned their colleagues about the potential co$ts of not leaning on the hardware manufacturers to come to an agreement on a single standard.
It's good someone notices the inherent risk in splitting an already confused marketplace even further. Will the studios be able to move the unified standards movement before players come to market or is it too little too late?
