Maxent MX-42XM11 $2,499 plasma reviewed

With a suggested retail price of just $2,499, the Maxent MX-42XM11 may be the lowest priced 42-inch plasma display on the market. But before you get all excited about that, read PC Magazine's review of the MX-42XM11, since this looks like a case where you most definitely get what you pay for. With a native resolution of 1028x768, you're not going to get true 720p on this, and with a contrast ratio of 322:1, you may find your blacks looking a little gray. The reviewer did find some strong points, including relatively sharp video output from DVDs. But in the end, noise and blackpoint problems made for a somewhat frustrating experience.
