The Amfibidiver: the driving, racing, diving SUV of your (wet) dreams

Amfibidiver

Necessity is the mother of invention… or so we hear. Like any good Belgian, René Baldewijns (diving enthusiast and inventor with many needs) conceived and then built the Amfibidiver — an amphibious submarine prototype, 'cause apparently he was wasting too much time searching for places he wanted to dive. René claims you can drive it off its trailer, along the road, and then plunge into the water and begin racing "like a speedboat" to your dive destination. Once there, it becomes a submarine able to cruise about underwater until parked on the watery floor. And since it can carry more air and equipment than any diver, it acts as an underwater base in support of the dive. Sure, you scoff, but it can't fly! That's actually his next project.
