NVIDIA's new motherboards w/ HD capabilities creep towards release

Graphics chip maker Nvidia recently announced their line of 400 series motherboard chipsets featuring integrated GeForce 6100 and 6150 GPU's, capable of 1080i output without an additional graphics card. With Nvidia's Pure Video technology, they can process WMVHD and MPEG-2 video in the hardware. Only the higher end 430/6150 combinations will feature high definition (1080p/i) output via its TV encoder however.

While the name isn't quite as catchy as ATI's newly announced standard for high definition output, it's good to see the leading chip manufacturers making sure acceleration and output of high definition video a priority going forward. Check out Anandtech for a review of Biostar's TForce 6100-939, one of the first motherboards to include this powerful combination.
