RCA Rip & Go audio system reviewed

RCA bookshelf unit

PC Magazine has a review up for the RCA RS2052 Rip & Go Digital Music Studio that we spied a little while back and it seems that the stereo doesn't quite live up to its potential. The bookshelf audio system sports a USB dock for an included MP3 player, and the stereo will rip your CDs directly to the player. Unfortunately the ripping process is real time, and the ripped MP3s (the ripees if you will) are only 128Kbps. You can plug the 128MB player into your computer for a some more efficient (and higher bitrate) MP3 action, but that kind of nulls the point.
