The Philips Chameleon lamp
The bar's been raised people—now that your room can (and thusly should) dynamically match your style, so should also your furniture. E-ink dyed fabric for your Knoll sofa might still be a ways off, but the Chameleon looks mighty slick even when it's not mimicing the tones you feed it. Just one of many concept devices you can find over Royal Philips way, who we'd actually really like to spin biz off and actually start making these.
P.S. +5 Magritte points awarded to Philips for that photo.

Ha! ...and its comments like these that make this blog different from others (in a good way).
Keep up good work!

Great...now all we need is people that change with the room's style...

At first I didn't notice that the guy is holding up his tie to a little protuberance sticking out of the lamp, which ostensibly scans the color applied to it. I was wondering just how it decided which color to change to.

Wow - Now can I get it for my car? And will the government use it for camouflage.

will new designs for the lamp have DRM? are they available on p2p yet?

Nikita is correct

My ex-wife's eyes will change color from green to blue to gray, depending on what color clothes she is wearing. How weird/cool is that?
Tallon @ Dec 19th 2005 1:06AM
That's pretty cool. Now I want one. #2 is correct, all right. Endgadget rox! Galley, the eye changing color thing isn't that uncommon, my dad's do that, but still it's pretty weird/cool.

Obviously not cool enough if she's your EX wife.
