Awwww. Well, it was good while it lasted, but the anticipation is now apparently squashed. We should expect no video iPod action on October 12, alas, but we should look forward to seeing some sort of update to the regular ol' full-size iPod, along with the updates to the Pro Mac line. We should be looking at an 80GB iPod of slightly smaller form factor than current models — and potentially even a new color other than iconic white or Bono black. In the Powerbook department we should look forward to higher resolution displays — but no widescreen iBook yet, though sources expect all portable Macs will be sporting widescreens by next year. Both the updated Powerbooks and Power Macs will be using DDR2 memory, delivering additional performance gains beyond the processor speed bumps.
