Nokia 6830 pics
Aight, check this on the new Nokia 6830 from Nokia (also code-named the Nokia N68) — it's gonna be a WCDMA/quad band GSM phone heading to the European market rocking Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and EDGE. It's doing that oh-so-fly maxi-pad effect — QWERTY with wings, if you will. Peep the folded and demure look after the jump.

Doesn't look half bad.
HELL YES. This is just what Nokia fans have been waiting for. Hope it's Series 40 Version 3.
The Nokia 6800 is one of the best phones ever built. Hope to get this one and have a go too. wonder what system it runs on though?
this is the correct url

I'd guess it's Series 60 (awesome) due to the menu and marking button (top left, top center, under the navi keys).
Something tells me its Series 60. Looks good, compared to the previous models with the open keyboard. Features look pretty good too, but still not compatible with the Sony Ericsson P990. Only if this had 3G...
What is WCDMA if it's not 3G?
*comparable, sorry
i mean with video call
#6 Isn't WCDMA == 3G ?
HELLO its NOKIA N70

I am hoping the "3G and "edge" mean that eventually the EDGE model will come to the US. Since CIng and Tmo had previous 6800 series phones.. this is a nice addtion Man! :)

I don't know about you guys, but this phone seems GODLIKE.
1. It looks AWESOME
2. Has WiFi (!)
3. QWERTY layout (!)
4. It looks AWESOME
5. Symbian 60 (!!!!)
6. MiniSD (!)
7. Has WiFi (!)
8. Did I say it looks AWESOME? (!)
It has to have stereo MP3 though. If not... omg, Nokia, if you don't put stereo MP3... *sqeezes orange*
I had one of the precursors to this (the 6820), and the fold-out QWERTY keyboard is actually pretty useful. Plus it looks trick.
Best News Ever!
My brother and I both have the 6800, and my youngest brother has the 6820. These are excellent phones, and now if this model has GPS, We will all be very very happy
i've never used a qwerty that folded out like this; is it comfortable to use at all?
ey cuby ists super useful to use qwerty keyb like typin on a pc keyb.
i 'd got 5100 then my 6800 was stolen Arghhh i try some others then bought k750i cause i wntd to listen Mp3 but i miss qwerty keyb Nokia E series is Awesome /must have/
what the fricking? I just brought Nokia 6822 and there is new 6830 coming soon. ARgghhhh!
I had the earlier version of this phone from AT&T right before they and cingular merged... and after over a year people still gawk at it.
The best phone I ever bought. Easy to use and text.
Now looks like i gotta save for the update.
#27 (cuby) -- I've got a Nokia 6800, and the keyboard is actually more comfortable to use than many other keyboard-equipped phones, because you don't have to squeeze your hands close together to hit the tiny keys. Plus, the keys are rounded (sort of chiclet shaped) with a light "click" to each one, so that you really know which key you're hitting, and can thumb-type fairly fast. If this new phone has a similar feel, then I'm strongly considering it.
Just have to say it again, the 6800 is absolutely fantastic. Still using mine (because personally, i think the 6810 and 6820 are fugly). But this however, is a Godsend.
Grr. This just rubs more salt in my Sprint wounds. Will Sprint phones ever be competitive with the more universal GSM??
#33- No.
WCDMA IS THE SAME AS UMTS (3G)! With less overhead in royalties to those Monopolistic Minded Bastards at Qualcomm. It is what the majority of world mobile Operators are migrating too (i.e. GSM/GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, UMTS/HSPDA).
Another cool device that will no doubt hit CINGULAR first. DRATZ!!
Wow where are the faqggots this time? Well let me be the first idiot then...
OH ITS UGLY! (I.E. IM STUPID!! IM GAY!!)
Just kidding, I'm suprised some idiot didn't say that though. Nice phone!
It looks hard to use, in the sense that you cant easily one hand the keyboard, while using the other to support the device. It looks killer for using flat on tables though, but that diminishes the portability.
#37, I had the nokia 6800, and currently have the nokia 6810 (bought it off a website, because of the bluetooth to use w/ my car), and I can truly say that you don't have to put it on a table to use it. Once the phone is opened all the way, it locks into places, and it takes a bit of "force" to unlock it, so no worries there, plus if you want to use it one had, it still has the letters on the numberpad (and yes it is three letters per number). I have been waiting for this phone for a year and a half, and it was well worth the wait. Just curious, does anybody know if the phone has FM radio, I am still going to buy it, but I am curious?
It's called E70 now - and Nokia seems to be making them silver, not black as the first versions were!
Why is this a problem?
I own the 6820 and 6822 and when the backlight is on, you cannot read the letters when there is medium ambient lighting (most indoors places). Silver with black letters becomes silver with somewhat light letters; poor contrast. The buttons must be black and the letters white for optimum visibility.
I also had the 6800 which at least had the main keys on the keyboard black. But these all-silver buttons are hopeless. I find myself turning it in my hand to find a position where the light does not shine directly through the characters. A pain.
