Oct 17: What's on HDTV today

Iceland

What we're watching
:

We just might be watching history as the Houston Astros will gain their first-ever World Series berth with a win tonight. Fox is carrying game five of the series in 720p tonight at 8 p.m.

If the game looks to be a blow-out, or if you're simply sick of baseball, tune in to Discovery-HD tonight at 10 p.m. "Extreme Engineering" looks to be a spectacular high-definition event in 1080i. Tonight you'll see the controversial plans to dig 45-miles of caves in Iceland. What are the repercussions on the environment? Aside from the obvious issues, this should be stunning to view.

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.
