The HTC Prophet
Some images and details have leaked out about the HTC Prophet, a new GSM/GPRS/EDGE Pocket PC Phone that's supposedly slimmer than the HTC Magician and that is listed as running Windows Mobile 5.0 and having a 416MHz processor, an integrated FM tuner, WiFi, a 65,000 color, QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) display, and a two megapixel digital camera with flash. No word on a possible release date or which carriers might be offering the phone.

I bet this is not a photo but a rendering. The colours are too flat and the scroll wheel fins are too sharp.
Top looking phone though. Make one someone please.
One word.
WOW
I'm saving up now...this will be a perfect replacement for my MPx220.
This appears to have the same specs as the O2 XDA Atom, so does this confirm that the Atom is built by HTC? There were some questions as to whether it might be built by Quanta instead of HTC.
Fwiw, the Atom is due on O2 in December.
If the HTC Prophet and Atom are, in fact, the same reference design, it looks like that partially answers some questions we had about whether it would be picked up by i-mate, Qtek, etc... It's looking good so far. ;)
Looks fake to me
There is no mention of BlueTooth. Does it have BT and if so what version?
be great if it had bluetooth and cost 300$ can I get an 'amen'?!
Wait until you see the HTC MERLIN!
WOoooooooooooo.
This is sortt of like the Atom, isnt it? I like the FM radio, to tell you the truth.
GIMME. it'll probably have an MS bluetooth stack. which is ok, but not totally swell. the guys at xda-developers will cook up a rom with a sweeter stack in short order, i'm sure.
More goodness from HTC it looks like, but is there a big warehouse of QVGA displays out there that have to get used up before we see good VGA PPC phones come out?
according to mobile-review.com, it's only 200Mhz CPU... hope there are different version with faster cpu.. 200.. as slow as my old IPAQ 1910 .... still waiting for pocketpc phone with auto-focus camera....
