LCDs might drop 50%
Applied Materials is a company that produces gear to manufacture LCDs. According to them, we can start to see a price drop on LCDs due to the cost of manufacturing dropping as they develop new processes that would make it cheaper to produce the panels. This way they can make more for less. Nothing wrong with that.
They also state that the little standard war going on between manufactures, you know the 37-inch from LG.Philips and 40-inch from Samsung, raises the cost of the panels 'cause they have to make different equipment for almost the same size sets.
