LG's next-gen DirecTV boxen
DirecTV's they've got their first gen DVR set-top boxes on the way, they're phasing out their TiVo partnership on DirecTiVo boxes, so you may ask, what's next? Well, apparently it's got to do with a little company you may have heard of named LG, and where they want to take set-top boxes with DirecTV's switch to MPEG-4 sat feeds. Oh, and a few key bits like LG's planned box being developed with an open user USB port, HDMI/HDCP output, and a Linux-based OS (also like TiVo). Details are sketchy as to exactly what LG's got planned for these next gen DirecTV devices, however, so keep your pants on.
