Moto's i870 antibacterial WiDEN phone
We know iDEN's squarely on its way out (for the consumer, anyway), but so long as Moto's gonna sell 'em for the next couple of years, they're sure to crank out ever more phones. The i870, which we caught before on the FCC, is apparently going to come with an AgION antimicrobial silver-ion coating, which'll keep it free of those nasty bugs on the surface; as before it also features a 1.3 megapixel camera, MicroSD, Bluetooth, WiDEN high(er) speed data (expect up to 100kbps, where applicable), and, of course, your precious push-to-talk. Expect it to retail for $300 with a two year contract.

Yeah but the coolest part about this phone is the button to flip the flip open... just like an original series Star Trek communicator. It's a very cool "Beam Me Up Scotty" feature that ought to appeal to all kinds of geeks. And the anti-microbial feature is perfect for this trips to Mars & Venus, never know what kind of bugs aliens are going to have....

IIRC, Ted, the i860 had that flip-button, too. Really convenient. I can't remember how many times I unintentionally hung up on people when, as I was trying to open my i730, it slipped back shut. Now, if only they would make a phone that doesn't spontaneously reset itself.

weaszel, I was being funny. It is actually a very handy feature to have, especially when one is driving (when I know your not supposed to answer the phone anyway...) Or when you have kids like I do and one hand is holding their hands an you need to open your flip! Works great on this device.

A la Samsung Silver Nano

You forgot to mention that the i870 will play MP3 files.
