Sona Mobile's Star Trek Communicator phone delayed
We regret to inform our Klingon speaking, phaser toting, beam-me-upping audience that Sona Mobile's Star Trek Communicator phone has been delayed — though it's apparently not due to any lack of demand. No, production difficulties are delaying the device until 2006, so unless you can be up-taken by the Nexus or hit some other form of temporal disturbance, you're still going to have to wait until the future to get your Communicator.

Capt'an, I've got to have more power, she just can't take it sir...
What would be really funny/geeky/cool would be a bluetooth "communicator badge" that worked like a bluetooth headset only had a little speakerphone instead.
Simply tap your chest and voice dial "Riker to enterprise" to start your call.
Sadly I'd probably buy such a thing, but at least I wouldn't wear it in public :)
Its those Klingon bastards that are to blame.
Me, I have no shame!
Tho not a trekkie I'd love to have one no.2
Some Spock ears too.
Anyone know what carrier will use this?
This is easily the ultimate cell phone...it's about time someone did this...the key will be if it's done right.
If it's done with sufficient quality, they will sell a ton.
There are so many Trekkies, so many tech geeks, that will rush to buy this phone.
It has to make the communicator sound when you open it though! And yes this trekkie would buy one for sure! Scottie...1 to beam up!

Of course we can hope you'll have the option
to install the classic Original Series
'birdy chirp' ring-tone if you wish.

No sign of the classic (albeit useless)
'moire pattern' of the Original Series comm.
They already have a communicator it is called Vocera. http://www.vocera.com I install it and it rocks! Uses standard 802.11b, Voice Driven, call anyone anywhere. Excellent solution to mobile communications!
