Ask Engadget: Holiday Gift Suggestions?

Alright, so as you know we're doing a Holiday Gift Guide, we've already made some of our suggestions (we're doing one a day between now and Christmas), but we figured we'd draw on the collective wisdom of the Engadget readership and ask y'all what gadgets you're planning to give as gifts this year or that you would recommend to someone else to give as a gift. So geeks can get what they want, 'cause the people with money are usually idiots.

To make it a bit more geek: GCs that blink, voice record, RFID, Smart chip and/or scratch and sniff.

But PLEASE not a xBox 3shiddy, nor another iP.O.S. player or add on.

AND DON'T BE CHEAP WITH THE GIFT CARDS EITHER! 50'S OR MORE. TRIPLE DIGITS EVEN BETTER, AND FOUR OR MORE FIGURES FROM THE PEOPLE I NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO, they are techno-illiterate not complete idiots.

As much as I like money, I hate receiving money as a gift. It just screams out that they don't really care and are giving you something out of commitment. I'd much rather have a nice card with a thoughtful message from someone that loves me than some ugly green pieces of paper...

Call me a geek tradionalist, but I just love my propeller beanie. They have been the symbol of geekdom for generations, and I am giving several to my friends this year.... much easier than trying to figure out what piece of silicon they don't already own

Geek Culture makes the best ones, they are *excellent* quality caps, (not the crappy dime-store kind), non-goofy, and you can customize them with colored propellers and even multiple props... mmmmm dual prop-cessors!

I am giving some great new action figure gadgets called Shockinis from www.shockertoys.com to my younger family members! You can get them direct or at your local comic shops and specialty stores. They are a system "world" Of mini action figures that are all interchangable and kids can create different characters with! These are very hot and I'm suprised I haven't seen them in the hot toy list, they might be to new!
