Canadians love their HDTVs

Canada's Rogers Cable Communications is reporting tremendous growth in their HD subscription base. They have doubled the amount of subscribers this year and just hit 100,000. This growth is attributed to the impressive number of high-def stations that they offer: 28! I am lucky to get 8 stations in HD and the guys up north have 28! They also are finding that one in three HD subscribers are using their high definition PVR.

I still cannot get over that they have that many stations. The absolute most available in the states are 17 satellite via Dish Network with the VOOM HD package and then if you count one of every network (ABC, NBC, etc.) that puts us at 24 stations. Maybe we can experience tremendous growth too if we had that many stations.
