Gefen intros HD extension via Cat-5

I guess I could have used one of these instead of WiFi for my high-def, no? With perfect timing, Gefen just announced their DVI-RS232 Extender that pumps HD content up to 150 feet via Cat-5 Ethernet cable. The unit comes with both a touch-screen and a wired remote control. C'mon guys, at least make the remote wireless!

One nice feature is the HDCP copy-protection pass-through. This is key because you wouldn't want to be stuck trying to pass protected content to an HDTV 150-feet away only to find out that you can't play it! This nice feature along with the long range will set you back about $4 a foot; the unit costs $599.
